Nordic Energy Services Awarded City of Chicago Contract
Five-year agreement to provide negotiation services of natural gas supply contracts, scheduling gas deliveries, manage usage data, and research and forecasting
Willowbrook, IL., August 13, 2010 – Nordic Energy Services, LLC, an independently owned Alternative Retail Electric Supplier (ARES), as certified by the Illinois Commerce Commission, announces it has finalized an agreement to provide natural gas delivery and consulting services to the City of Chicago’s Department of General Services, which manages the maintenance and operation of city properties.
Under the five-year agreement, Nordic will manage the natural gas deliveries and storage inventories for approximately 400 city facilities. The company will also advise the city on strategic long-term purchasing opportunities.
James C. Deering, J.D., President of Nordic Energy, said, “We were selected because we are positioned to meet the City of Chicago’s energy requirements. This agreement requires that the provider have the infrastructure to be able to nominate and schedule natural gas deliveries and manage storage inventories. It also requires the capabilities of an energy consultant that can advise the organization on strategic purchasing and market opportunities. Nordic has the ability to provide the city with both infrastructure and market intelligence.”
Nordic has assembled two subcontractors that are Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) as certified by the City of Chicago to perform various tasks outlined in the scope of services.
